Explaining why DLOs are a preferred option
Keith Simpson, Director of Business Development at Just Housing, and the Chair of the Direct Work Forum, will be speaking at the Homes Conference on 15 November, at London's Excel Centre. He will join John Giesen, Chief Executive of B3Living to explain why, in a climate of outsourcing, a significant number of new DLOs have been created and services taken back in-house.
Keith will argue that the past decade of partnership arrangements and open book contracts has been a failure, and explain why DLOs are now the preferred option.
John will share his organisation's reasons for taking part of the service back in-house, and the thinking behind 'Send and Mend', B3Living's new property maintenance service.
He will also set out the coordinated approach used to create the DLO, which resulted in a mix of both Send and Mend operatives and local contractors maintaining the organisation's property.
As well as being a Just Housing Director, Keith is the founder and Chair of the successful Direct Works Forum, which has over 90 registered social landlords and local authorities as members.
