JH signs up to Repairs Charter

Just Housing has signed up to the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) Repairs Charter.

By signing up to the Charter, Just Housing is continuing in its commitment to ensuring high quality repairs services for tenants.

The Charter is a framework for improving repairs services based on a self-assessment approach that encourages accountability by involving residents. Just Housing was part of the advisory group that formed the Charter.

Kevin McCarthy, Director of Just Housing says: 'We were pleased to have had a hand in shaping the Charter and also to be a signatory. We would encourage all social landlords to sign up to the Charter, which will help drive up the standard of housing repairs, an issue that residents continually say is most important to them.

'Repairs and maintenance of social housing property is key to residents' satisfaction and an area of major expenditure. We believe that the CIH Repairs Charter is a good first step in setting standards and exposing the unnecessary wast of public money.'
